Several times in the last 15 or so years I’ve left a “Christmas” tree up for more than just the Christmas season. This year I’m leaving one full-size and 2 small trees up in the SheShed all year long. We use them to photograph the Christmas ornaments that we sell on Etsy and Amazon but they’ll also be decorated for each holiday that comes along. Right now the large tree is a Valentine tree.
I gave a tour on a Facebook Live last week and you can scroll down to find that video. Meanwhile, take a look at the mini tree that was on the stair landing of our townhouse in California. See if you can see the same Valentine decorations on both trees.

My California Valentine Tree
Back when the girls were in elementary school we left a tiny tree on the entry table and decorated it for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, baseball season, and Memorial/Independence Day. I don’t remember any other holidays so we might have taken it down at the end of the summer.
Then, when Jordann was in high school she wanted a tree to decorate for her birthday. (If you click on that link, please excuse the quality of the photos… that was a while ago on my old yucky camera!) You can see it decorated for Halloween here. And here for Thanksgiving.
This year my sister kept her tree up for my niece’s birthday on January 9. But I think they’ll be putting it up as soon as it warms up enough for them to get into the attic.
I first planned to leave one of my little trees out to photograph Christmas ornaments for Etsy throughout the year. But until I need it for that purpose I’ll keep it decorated for the current holiday. Right now it’s a Valentine tree.
I bought these chocolate covered strawberries several years ago at Room With a Past. I think they were in Mandi’s space. Don’t worry, they’re plastic.
I’ll have a couple of the Valentine ticket garlands at the next sales at Room With a Past, Paris Flea Market, and Treasure Island. The blank tickets are now available in our online shop.
I’ve also been collecting vintage Valentine postcards for years so I’m displaying some of them on the bottom shelf under the tree.

I love the little scene you’ve created under the tree. The tree is a sweet Valentine treat as well. I have quite a few faux treats. Some plastic dipped strawberries as well. I’m setting up a Valentines Bakery display in the entry. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
