Yes, we FINALLY made it to the Magnolia Bakery on our last trip to Waco. We’ve seen it from the outside a couple of times before but we haven’t been to Magnolia Market since the bakery opened. I (and our own personal Paparazzi [aka, my son-in-law]) took TONS of pictures so I’m going to break them up into several articles so it will load faster on your computer or phone. So today, you’ll get to see the best photos from the Silos Baking Co. There will be a link at the end of the article that leads to next week’s story.

Our Trip to Magnolia Bakery
The first time I saw this building was on our very first trip to Magnolia Market, back when it was the tiny shop on Bosque. You can see what the building looked like in this story about our trip. Tex told me then that he thought it had been a flower shop. We decided Joanna should turn it into a flower shop again… but she turned it into something even better!
We arrived at Magnolia Market at about 9:10 so they had only been open for 10 minutes. Still, Bikeman and the Paparazzi couldn’t believe how busy it was. “Just wait,” we said. “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!”
Now nine a.m. may be a little early for a cupcake but I had heard how long the lines get so we headed to the bakery first. There were only about 5 people in front of us and the line moved really fast.
It was a HARD decision… so many treats to choose from. Some where kind of ‘breakfasty’ but Jo and I chose traditional cupcakes instead.
Jo’s trying to wait patiently in front of that fun Bakery sign painted on the brick wall!
I’d love to find an old sign like this one for my kitchen.
Don’t judge… we ate half of the cupcakes even though it was only 9:20.
We picked a lemon-lavender cupcake and a peach cobbler cupcake. They were beautiful and delicious but as a food critic I’d have to say they didn’t have enough lavender or peach flavor in them. That icing though…
I had also heard that the bathroom in the bakery was a ‘must-see’ so I snuck in there, too.
Absolutely gorgeous black and white toile wallpaper, along with Jo’s signature white subway tile and black details. And that black and white tile floor is making me want to do another bathroom makeover in our own home.

I love visiting great bakeries when we are on city breaks and have stood in long queues quite happily! I haven’t go to a Magnolia yet, but one day… xx
