How I Cheated to Make My DIY Chalkboard Star Christmas Ornaments

I love chalkboards!  And I’ve been wanting some chalkboard ornaments for years now but every year I’d run out of chalkboard paint or time.  But this year I found a secret to getting my chalkboard star Christmas ornaments done in less than 30 minutes!

Chalkboard Star Christmas Ornaments

  • chalkboard star ornaments or tags
  • white chalk
  • white chalk marker – I have THIS set.

I bought my star ornaments on Amazon.  I’ve also seen them at Michael’s but couldn’t find them online when I wrote this.

First write a Christmas word or phrase in the middle of the star with regular chalk.

Then trace over that with a chalk marker, let dry, and wipe off the extra chalk.  Then decorate the edges and/or back.

And that’s it… they’re done!  No time wasted waiting for the paint to dry.

These make great ornaments OR write names on them and use them as gift tags!

As far as I’m concerned you can never have too many stars at Christmas time!  I don’t just put them on top of my tree, I put them all over the tree!  Let me know if you make these… I’d love to see how yours turn out.

‘Til the next project,
