Jewelry Cabinet Makeovers

Thrift Store Jewelry Cabinet Makeover with Folding Door #2

Today I’m sharing another thrift store jewelry cabinet makeover.  I found another old cabinet with a folding door.  Very similar to this last one I painted gray.  Luckily this one was in excellent condition and very clean!

These are the four colors of Chalky Finish I have right now.  And I’ve used them all.  You can see samples below:

  • turquoise blue (Escape) – Used on this frame.
  • gray (Primitive) – Used on this frame and this jewelry box.
  • golden orange (Inheritance) – Used on this frame.

Here’s the finished jewelry cabinet.  It has two coats of paint plus one top coat.  Plus, I tried something new on this one…

Antique gold Rub ‘n Buff!  My friend had been telling me about it for a while so I finally broke down and bought some.

And wow… is it fun to use!  No brush necessary.  Just rub it and buff it.  (The photo below is a different project.  I forgot to take a picture when I used it on this cabinet.)

I really like how it turned out on the detailed knobs.

So pretty! I have had one just like it in a closet for forever, just haven’t gotten around to sprucing it up. This gives me some motivation! xo Kathleen

Ann, you have a really interesting site that I could get lost in for hours. Enjoyed the jewelry cabinet makeover. It looks really nice. I’m envious that others find these for so cheap. In my neck of the woods, I seldom see them, & when I do they are EXPENSIVE! Hoping I will run across one someday somewhere that is affordable.
