I love globes! And I love chalkboards! I’ve seen a lot of people on Pinterest combining those two and I really do like the look of the chalkboard globes. But I just couldn’t bring myself to paint any of mine so far. So for now I’m just adding these little banners to them. I’ve made “Peace on Earth” and “Joy to the World”. But right now I can’t find my “joy” so I’ll have to show that one to you at another time!

I found this globe at Goodwill on a recent treasure hunt with the Music Man.
The Christmas banner is pretty simple. I just printed the words onto white cardstock and cut out the banner shapes. They’re about 2 1/2″ x 3″ with a triangle shape cut out of the bottom. I made a pattern with regular copy paper by cutting out a 2 1/2″ x 3″ rectangle then folding it in half. Then I cut a triangle out about 1″ deep.
Make sure you leave plenty of room around the words when you print it. Cut out the individual banners, draw a line freehand around the edge with a thin Sharpie, punch holes in the top corners (with a 1/8″ hole punch), then add the string.
Couldn’t be easier! Take a look at the close up below if you’re a visual person like me.
