Have you ever been to an ugly Christmas sweater party? I’ve been to one and I’m proud to say that I won the prize for the ugliest sweater! That was several years ago and the trend seems to be getting more popular every year. Scroll down to see the sweater that helped me win the prize and don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know if you’ve ever gone to an ugly Christmas sweater party! Today I’m going to share some accessories to wear to your party. Here’s how I made my ugly Christmas sweater earrings.
Thanks to Oriental Trading for providing the supplies for this project. You can find these supplies and many more Christmas craft supplies and decorations at Oriental Trading.
How to Make Ugly Christmas Sweater Earrings
- French hooks
- Christmas sweater charms
- chain nose pliers and bent nose pliers
Here are just a few of the supplies from Oriental Trading. Today I’m just using the sweaters. Next week I should have my bracelets finished.
I shared an unboxing video on Facebook and YouTube. Does anyone else get sucked into these? Why is it so relaxing to watch people open boxes and packages? Leave a comment and let me know if you like watching unboxing videos.
These are so simple to make I don’t even feel like I need to explain it. But if you’d like to see an example you can watch the video where I made my summer charm earrings. Exactly the same process.
Here are the finished Christmas sweater earrings:
Then I made earrings out of the other enameled charms — wrapped gifts, reindeer, gingerbread men, and Santa.
Then I used up the Christmas lights charms for more earrings and bracelets.
Now, to show you how I wrapped these. I also got these fun burlap tags and red/white/green bakers twine from Oriental Trading.
Then I wrapped a pair of earrings in tissue paper and tied the bakers twine around it. I stuck that in one of the ugly Christmas sweater boxes along with some candy, also in the shape of sweaters.
Here’s a better look at the wrapping supplies. And I created a wreath tag with some of the buttons.
Did you stick around to see my ugly sweater? It used to be easy to find these tacky old Christmas sweaters at thrift stores but now they sell so quickly that it’s almost impossible to find one.
Just in case you can’t find any vintage Christmas sweaters, here are a few on Amazon, along with a few other accessories to wear to your party.
