Room With A Past

Room With a Past Vintage Sale, February 2014

Jewelry on my shelf at Room With a Past, Walnut Creek, California | DuctTapeAndDenim.comI sat up my shelf at the Room With a Past vintage sale on Monday instead of Tuesday this month.  Tuesday is my normal day off but I had to fill in for a coworker so I was really glad that Monday was a holiday.  Turns out it was a popular place.  Six other “Roomies” were setting up, too.  So there weren’t many completed spaces to photograph.

Jewelry and cabinets on my shelf at Room With a Past, Walnut Creek, California | DuctTapeAndDenim.comThe photo above is some of the jewelry on my top shelf.  I had a wonderful gift given to me last month!  One of my friends from church used to sell Premier jewelry and still had a lot of display pieces that she had bought to use.  She was cleaning out her closet and thought of me.  The black velvet display pieces in the photo are just two of the ones she gave me.  At first I didn’t think I’d use them because they don’t really fit my rustic chic theme but I they really did come in handy.  The Music Man thinks I should cover them in duct tape and denim.  LOL… what do you think?

And that reminds me… while I was setting up two Roomies both gave me some things that they didn’t want.  I just love it when people think of me when they’re cleaning out their junk.  Yvonne gave me a stable from an old manger scene.  She knows I collect them.  I’ll share a photo when I set them all up for Christmas.  AND wait ’til you see the shelf she painted for her space.  She read my blog post about mixing your own chalk paint and she got brave, too.

Amy gave me a vintage necklace that she tangled up.  I’m going to take it apart and make it into something new.  I’ll share before and after photos of that, too.

The second photo is my bottom shelf.  You can see the huge wooden jewelry cabinet that the Music Man found for me.  I almost hate to sell it but it’s so big I don’t really have room for it.

Create your own necklace | DuctTapeAndDenim.comThis last photo is something new I’m trying.  I often switch chain lengths when customers buy a necklace so I’m offering the charms and chains separately.  We’ll see how that works at a sale where I’m not there the whole time.  Amy said she thinks I need a bigger sign.  And now that I look at the photo that sign does look really small.  Do you ever notice more details in photos than in real life?

If you’re local, the Room With a Past sale starts Thursday at 5 p.m.  I’ll be there Saturday from 10-2 so come see me!
