Since tomorrow is Small Business Saturday, I’d like to share one of my favorite small businesses in Waco… Harp Design Co. If you’re a fan of Fixer Upper you know Clint, Joanna’s amazing carpenter, who comes up with the most gorgeous pieces of furniture I’ve ever seen! He and his wife also run a cute little shop with some of the things he makes. It really reminded me of the original Magnolia Market shop that we visited last year.

Our First Trip to Harp Design Co.
I usually go back to Texas twice a year to do Antique Alley. But in the spring of 2016 I found another show the weekend after so I got to stay for TWO weeks! So, of course, the week in between the two shows I talked my sister and dad into going back to Waco. (That wasn’t hard to do. They like road trips.) This time we added a few more stops to our mandatory trip to Magnolia Market. First was to George’s O, a restaurant highly recommended by my brother’s family, and then to Harp Design Co.
These sweet floral prints were some of the first things that caught my eye. They reminded me of some of the pictures that used to hang in my husband’s grandmother’s house.

I knew a friend of mine was looking for a ladder to store and display blankets so I had to show her what I found here!
I could see the table settings on the beautiful farmhouse table in my own home. Actually, I ended up bringing home a set of those chalkboard napkin rings! (And another set that looks like vintage silverware. I haven’t photographed them yet.)
Our Second Trip to Harp Design Co.
Our next trip to Harp Design Co. was while we were on our Waco Tour. We only had about 10 minutes to look around and shop. No problem for us power shoppers. Although I would have loved to stay longer and touch every gorgeous piece in this shop!
I bought a cement pear (photos coming later) and I forgot what Lynne bought. But we did our shopping…
… took a picture by the sign…
…and still made it back onto the Waco Tours bus!
If you’re planning a trip to Waco, here are some places to stay near Harp Design Co:
Hotel Indigo – Baylor || This one is actually walking distance to Magnolia Market!!!
Quality Inn and Suites || Also near Baylor University.
La Quinta Inn || Here’s a lower priced alternative that still looked nice.

What an adorable shop – I can spend some time (and money 🙂 in shops like these where every product available was selected with care. Sounds like a fun trip the two of you had!

Just FYI, the Harp’s home that was featured on “Fixer Upper” is right next door to Harp Design Co. Shop and is a lovely place for visitors to enjoy for 2 nights or a longer stay! You can find it listed on Airbnb.com
