Condiments Quick and Easy

Fast Easy Homemade Salsa Recipe

A true salsa-lover will probably turn their nose up at this recipe because I don’t start with fresh tomatoes.  But this is fast easy homemade salsa recipe!  It tastes better at least a day after you make it but if you are craving salsa and don’t want to run to the store this is a great option.

Easy Homemade Salsa Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with chili peppers
  • cumin
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder (or a couple of cloves of fresh)
  • chili powder
  • cayenne pepper
  • fresh cilantro
  • dash salt
  • dash sugar

Throw everything in the blender and blend until you get the texture you want.

Notice that nothing is measured out except the salt which, as you can see in the photo to the right, is EXACTLY a dash.

I usually store this in canning jars in the fridge.  We never have to worry about it going bad.  We’ll go through this before the week is over.

Wow! When you said “fast AND easy” you weren’t kiddin’! Love this recipe. I’ll have this stuff in my kitchen before the week’s out. So glad I saw your link at City of Creative Dreams! Feel free to share this (and other posts, of course) at our link up – Coffee & Conversation. The link up goes from Wednesdays to Monday afternoons.
