Today I’m sharing my SUPER easy DIY doily burlap pillow cover. I honestly threw this together in about 15 minutes.

How to Make a Doily Burlap Pillow Cover
- Canvas Corp burlap pillow cover, 12″ x 12″
- approx. 10″ doily
- hand sewing needle and heavy duty white thread
- 12″ x 12″ pillow insert
Honestly, this project was so easy that I almost didn’t even share it. The pillow cover was premade, although it wouldn’t be hard to make it! My blogging friend, Jann, showed how to make an envelope pillow cover. My method is a little different. I’ll share that video another time.
I centered the doily on the pillow cover BEFORE putting in the insert then tacked down each point with a couple of stitches. You can tell from the close up photos that I didn’t use very many stitches. If your pillow is getting a lot of use or if you have little boys around the house you may want to stitch it down better.
I actually thought about this ahead of time and chose to use as few stitches as possible so I could later remove the doily and turn this pillow cover in to my Valentine’s Day pillow cover!

Ann, what a nice idea! I always wanted to make decorative pillows but haven’t gotten around to doing this just yet. Your DIY projects definitely offer a lot of encouragement to give it a try, though. Have a good day!

Hi! I don’t see a Contact page? anyway, I was reading your page where you tell all the places you party, and it said if I emailed you, to ask you how you manage to join all of those parties every week and you would tell? That’s a lot of parties! Thanks….
