Today I’m bringing you a Christmas countdown calendar that I made almost TEN years ago but I’ve NEVER shared it with you! This was one of my all-time favorite Christmas craft projects.

Christmas Countdown Calendar
As you can probably tell from most of my projects… I’m a borderline hoarder! And I have a special Christmas hoard filled with bits and pieces of fabric, lace, trims, scrapbook papers, and even parts of packages that I thought were too pretty to give away.
I got to use a lot of them up for this project.
The base of this calendar is a 7Gypsies Vintage ATC Spinner. The “pages” are regular manila shipping tags that I punched with the 7Gypsies hole punch so they would fit the spinner.
A few months before Christmas I asked all my family members to write out different Bible verses about Christmas. Some distant family members wrote theirs, scanned them, and then emailed them to me.
Then I cut them up and used them. So this is really a mix of Christmas countdown calendar and Advent calendar.
The photos are all old family photos that I scanned and printed. I NEVER use original photos in my projects!
This is one of my favorite photos… my niece! She was 2 at the time.
She even “wrote” a verse.
I used numbers from old Bingo cards and game pieces. This photo is my grandmother’s home next to a cotton field.
Such a fun way to remember family members at Christmas.
I made some chenille stem candy canes.

What is an ATC spinner?
ducttapeanddenim says
ATC is “Artist Trading Card”, a small piece of art, 2″ x 3″ that mixed media artists make and trade with each other. This spinner is designed to display your collection. I think they’re out of stock right now… don’t know if they’ll have more or if it’s discontinued.
