Even though it’s still summer, I’m slowly getting a few Christmas projects done. These candy cane Christmas gift tags can be made way ahead of time.

Supplies Needed for Candy Cane Christmas Gift Tags
- Canvas Corp tall tags, ivory – I only used the large tags.
- red/white striped chenille stems
- green burlap
- red burlap
- papers from Canvas Corp Jolly Christmas pad
- red rick rack
- craft glue
- glue gun and glue sticks
- craft scissors
- craft wire cutters
First, make the candy canes by cutting the chenille stems in two equal pieces. DON’T use your good scissors for this! These have wire inside and will ruin them. Use wire cutters or tin snips instead. (Or an old pair of scissors you don’t need anymore.)
Then use your good craft scissors to cut pieces of burlap, paper, and rick rack. Play around with them and layer them until you like how they look. Then glue everything down.
The green bow on the center tag is made of a string that came off the piece of burlap. It and the candy canes are glued down with hot glue. Everything else is glued on with craft glue.
Quick and easy!
