Valentine's Day

How to Use Valentine Scrabble Tiles in an Easy Centerpiece

Happy Valentine’s Day!   I know it’s a little late to share a Valentine project with you but maybe you can just pin it for next year!

By now y’all know how I feel about Scrabble tiles!  I love ’em!!!  They’re one of my favorite things to find at garage sales and thrift stores.  But it wasn’t until just recently that I found out they come in so many different colors.  (Check out this post where I list sources.  I ordered red AND pink!)

Valentine Scrabble Tiles Centerpieces

These two Valentine Scrabble tiles centerpieces were inspired by memories of my inlaws home.  They always had a bowl of games on the kitchen table — cards, Uno, Skip-Bo, dominoes, etc.  My father-in-law would sit and play solitaire or play a game with the kids while my mother-in-law cooked dinner.  What precious memories!  But they don’t have to be memories… let’s pull out some simple games and turn them into centerpieces!

This first vignette actually includes a set of ivory dominoes that belonged to Bikeman’s grandmother.  She was one good domino player.  “Forty-two” was actually her favorite.  One round around the table and she could practically tell everyone what they had in their hand!

Now for the NEW Scrabble tiles that I just ordered.  These are plastic but the colors were perfect for Valentine’s Day.  I displayed them in the vintage Crown canning jars that Lauren found in Canada for 25c each!

A little later they got mixed up together so I consolidated them into one jar.  I think I like them better that way.  We can still play with them mixed up.

Shocking… the remote is actually in the remote tray.  That doesn’t happen very often!

Where to Find Scrabble Tiles

There are LOTS of places to find Scrabble tiles for crafting, home decor… and actually playing. I wrote a whole article about it HERE.

Here’s where I’ve been finding many of my Scrabble tiles lately:
