I’m taking a break from my regular ‘Friday Favorites’ to show you some photos from last weekend at Treasure Island Flea. I guess I could still say that this is a ‘Friday Favorite’. TI Flea is quickly becoming my favorite flea! This was Memorial Day weekend and Uncle Sam walked by our booth several times. The lawn area was full of food trucks, picnic-ers, kids activities, and even a pony ride.
You can see my entire booth in the top right photo above. Below is a close up of my back table. It’s set up the same as the last few few sales… my crates (vintage and new-made-to-look-vintage) stacked on top of each other with a long cedar board shelf between. If you sell at vintage flea markets or antique shops and are looking for ideas follow my Vintage, Flea Market, & Craft Show board, on Pinterest.
I tried something new on the right side of the booth. I found and painted some HUGE frames, added chicken wire, and displayed earrings. This was taken before I got them all up. They hold a lot of earrings. I think it helped customers to see the earrings displayed like this instead of in the little boxes and bowls like I’ve had before.
This vignette was at the right front of the space. I have a 10’x15′ space and my canopy is only 10’x10′ so this part is out in the open. Which was fine this month… no rain like there was in April. I use my big suitcases as part of the display but they’re for sale, too. I painted the brown one with chalkboard paint and had a little fun with it. The wooden wine crate right behind it had been used to hold bracelets in previous sales. I decided to turn it on it’s side as display earrings this month. Those tiny clothespins don’t work all that great though… need to keep working on this idea. If you love suitcases, too, follow my Vintage Suitcases board on Pinterest.
This was the vignette on the front left. The white cowboy boots are the only thing left! And the only piece of furniture we had left was that little round white table in the back. We were glad not to have so much to load up. Plus I brought that white table home and it looks great in my bedroom! It may not make it to the next sale.
Still lovin’ the vintage crates for display…
This is the Music Man’s favorite part of the Flea… it’s his reward for helping me set up. Every month as soon as we finish setting up he heads over to Harvey’s Gourmet Donuts. So fresh you can watch them cook while you wait!
Next month… June 28-29. Sign up for my newsletter to get a reminder before the Flea and to see our other sales.
