Thanksgiving Scripture Reading – Psalm 95:2
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. Psalm 95:2 (NASB)
A friend of mine hand-lettered this verse for her Thanksgiving cards last year! Try something like this in your thanksgiving journal. Doesn’t even have to be this neat. Just write the words in different fonts, sizes, and directions. Then do some doodles in between the words and letters.
Project
Our church encourages all our members to be involved in an in-home Bible study group we call “community groups”. Our group meets every other Monday evening and it has worked out best for us to have a meal. Makes it easier to get there after work. Plus it’s just fun for us to get to talk more before we get into our Bible study.
Earlier this year one of our new members hosted and she had the most amazing tablecloth! It was just a simple, solid color but she provided us with fabric markers so we could write what we’re grateful for on it and it would be a permanent reminder. She’s had it for years… I forgot how many. But wouldn’t that be a great Thanksgiving tradition? Much like this gratitude tablecloth that I found on Pinterest.

Hymn – Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
Henry Alford, 1844
1 Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
all is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.
2 All the world is God’s own field, fruit as praise to God we yield;
wheat and tares together sown are to joy or sorrow grown;
first the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear;
Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be.
3 For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home;
from the field shall in that day all offenses purge away,
giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast;
but the fruitful ears to store in the garner evermore.
4 Even so, Lord, quickly come, bring thy final harvest home;
gather thou thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin,
there, forever purified, in thy presence to abide;
come, with all thine angels, come, raise the glorious harvest home.
