The picture below is the first image I saw of this sad little sewing machine cabinet that Bikeman found on the side of the street about 4 years ago. No one wanted it… I guess I can understand. It was pretty rough and the sewing machine had been removed. He texted this photo to me while I was at the Roses and Rust Vintage Home Market and asked if I wanted it. I still needed a lot of practice painting furniture so of course I said “Yes!”

Painted Sewing Machine Cabinet Makeover
I ended up putting two very thin coats of CeCe Caldwell’s Vintage White on it. The wood was still showing through a little more than I wanted after the first coat. I wet distressed it just a bit around the edges and waxed it.
SIDE NOTE: I no longer use CeCe Caldwell’s Paint. Mainly just because out shop doesn’t sell it. Here’s a similar color that I like… and the wax that goes with it.
I had a “Momma Loves to Sew” theme for my Mother’s Day set up at the Roadside Relics Flea Market in May as you can see below.
The box below is a completely different project but still painted with CeCe’s Vintage White. The sewing machine cabinet didn’t sell at Roadside Relics so I hauled it out to the Treasure Island Flea and stacked this box on top of it. A girl came by and thought it was one piece. She ended up buying both of them. I really wish I had taken a picture of them stacked. It did look much more substantial.
