Is your wardrobe ready for summer? Once you learn how to make a tassel out of embroidery thread you can make all kinds of accessories and decorate your shirt, tote bags, or even shoes to get them ready for summer. I’m also sharing this easy project in the 15-Minute Patriotic Blog Hop so make sure you scroll down to see all the other projects that will be shared.

How to Make a Tassel Out of Embroidery Thread
You’ll need these supplies:
- embroidery thread
- 8mm jump ring
- 3 – 6mm jump rings
- 1 large lobster clasp
- flag charm
- blue rhinestone ball bead
- scissors
- jewelry pliers
It’s actually much easier for me to SHOW you how I make these so I recently did a Facebook Live video. Sorry for the rough start. Skip over about the first minute or so to get to when I start making them. Facebook Live is still new to me!
Before taking the paper off the embroidery thread, hook the 8mm jump ring through the loop of one end. Tie a piece of the embroidery thread around the whole skein about 1/4″ from the looped ends. Repeat on the other end.
Cut the skein in half and remove the paper. Smooth out the threads and trim if needed.
Add the tassel, flag charm, and rhinestone ball bead to the large lobster clasp.
Now wasn’t that easy? Clip it on your purse or tote bag for some patriotic flair this summer. I’ll have a few of these and some other styles of purse charms at Paris Flea Market for the June sale. Hope to see you there!
