How to Make an Easy Fall Felt Leaf Garland

Today we’re sharing our super easy fall felt leaf garland.

Fall is my favorite time of year! I can hardly wait to get out my fall decorations. Every year I try to make a couple of new DIY projects or update some of our old ones. But this little project hasn’t been updated in TEN years! It’s a simple and timeless craft project.

I actually made this felt leaf garland WAY back in 2010 and I have seriously used it somewhere in our house every year since then.

Supplies for Fall Felt Leaf Garland

  • felt
  • scissors
  • string

Yep, it’s that simple! You can make it even EASIER by buying felt leaves already cut out. Amazon even has a few garlands that are already made if you don’t feel like doing a DIY right now.

How to Make a Felt Fall Leaf Garland

Find & Print a Leaf Outline Pattern

When I first made my felt leaf garland I literally just Googled “leaf outline”.

Print one copy of each leaf shape that you need to use as a pattern.

Cut Felt Leaves

Depending on how sure of yourself you are, you can either pin the paper pattern to the felt, draw around it, or just hold it and cut.

I took the third route.

Turn Leaves Into a Fall Garland

At this point, the leaves can be used for multiple fall craft projects. But if you want to use them as a fall garland, cut two tiny slits at the top of each leaf and run a string through them.

Easy peasy, right?!?  Let me know if you try it.
