Today I’m going WAY outside my comfort zone and painting a pink jewelry cabinet! Y’all know that most of my projects are white or gray… except when I get out my favorite turquoise paint. But since setting up next to Paint & Paddles at Junk Bonanza I’ve been experimenting a little more. We made a trade at the end of the show — one of my painted frames for several samples sizes of their paint.

Pink Jewelry Cabinet Makeover
- pink paint
- white paint
- paint brushes
- scrapbook paper (I used this paper from 7Gypsies.)
- Decou-page
- Americana Decor Soft Touch Varnish
- sandpaper
After I gave the jewelry cabinet a couple of coats of pink paint I thought that it looked a little boring. What do you think?
So I pulled out my 7Gypsies paper pad, picked a coordinating scrapbook paper, traced around the top of the jewelry cabinet, cut it out, and decoupaged it on.
After I sanded the edges to distress it a little, I thought it still looked a little stark so I dry brushed some white paint on top of the decoupage.
I also decoupaged scrapbook paper to the one drawer in front. This little handle had screws that were easy to get off and on.
After that I gave the entire jewelry cabinet a coat of varnish. What do you think now?
BTW, the price marked on the glass came off pretty easy with a little spray cleaner and elbow grease!

I love it, but I love pink. I’ve heard, though, that pink painted things aren’t good sellers. You’ll have to let us know how it does.

True… pink jewelry cabinets don’t sell as well (at least for me) as white, gray, and blue!

This is so lovely. The pink is delicate and it is a feminine look. The jewelry box will be a pretty addition anyone’s bedroom.

I should think pink would be loved by little girls and those who buy for them. Anyone who loves a bit of frou frou! My SO’s 11 yo granddaughter has not outgrown her love for pink yet!

I think this pink one is very pretty. I especially like the decoupage. Perfect way to dress it up. It’s like the icing on the cake.
I never tire seeing your Jewelry cabinet makeovers.

I love redoing jewelry boxes. I usually do them in every colour you can think of but they are hard to sell. Did a new one cream. Let’s see how that goes.

Yes, I find the same thing… They require almost as much time as a large piece of furniture but you can’t sell them for the same amount. I love to paint them all different colors but white seems to sell best.
