Today we’re celebrating Day Two of Handmade Holidays Blog Hop and it’s all about Christmas Decor! Thanks to DecoArt for supplying the stain in today’s project. Walnut Hollow is also a sponsor but I actually purchased this rustic tree last year and never got around to making it. The Christmas ornament display project and opinions are my own.

Supplies for Rustic Christmas Ornament Display
- Walnut Hollow rustic tree
- Walnut Hollow rustic wood ledge
- DecoArt Color Stain, light fern
- DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint, everylasting
- drill
- drill bit
- paint brush
- rag
- wire
- wire cutters
- screws
Drill holes about 1/4″ from the edge.
This stain is really easy. Just brush it on and wipe off with a rag.
Paint the rustic ledge white — or whatever color you prefer. Then measure and mark the center point with a pencil. Screw the tree to the back side of the ledge.
This next step is optional but I wanted to make matching hooks for all my ornaments. Cut pieces of wire, shape each one into an S, and coil the ends around with round nose pliers.
Now hang your ornaments.
I wanted my tree to be full so I added some eye hooks in the center of each “branch”. Then I filled the ledge with more Shiny Brite ornaments. And this isn’t even half of my collection!
Now take a look at the projects from all the other talented bloggers who are participating in the Handmade Holidays blog hop!
Thanks for reading and I’d LOVE to hear from you if you’re a fellow Shiny Brite lover. Leave a comment and let me know how many ornaments you have!

Sweet… I like the juxtaposition of the rustic with the vintage glamour of the old ornaments.

What a fun idea! This would be great if you forgo a tree because you’re baby proofing or in a small space. It’s also a great way to display your favorite ornaments! Thanks for sharing!
