I was recently invited to participate in a washi tape round-up hosted by TryItLikeIt.com. I had a couple of rolls of tape that I received from one of our Snap Conference sponsors, Scotch, that were just what I needed for these washi tape feather earrings!

Supplies for Washi Tape Feather Earrings
- Scotch Expressions Washi Tape – I couldn’t find the exact rolls that I used on Amazon but there are a LOT there to choose from!
- 24 gauge wire
- French hooks
- scissors
- 2 pair pliers
Tear off two pieces of each color a little over 3″ long (or however long you want your feathers to be). Overlap them in the center a tiny bit so they’ll stick together. NOTE: Try hanging them off the edge of the table when you do this. I stuck them to some paper to get a better photo but they do sometimes pull up some of the paper with them.
Lay one set of tape pieces up, center the wire, and top it with the other two pieces. Basically a wire sandwich!
Cut the basic feather shape and snip off one end of wire. My “feather” was about 3″.
Make cuts all the way down from the side almost to the wire. Repeat on the other side. Make a loop with the wire at the top. Attach to your French hooks. Repeat for the other earring.
And here’s my lovely model…
These are so light you forget that you’re even wearing earrings!
‘Til the next project,

These are so pretty. What a great way to make some DIY earrings. Thanks for sharing on Snickerdoodle Sunday!

How do you keep them from sticking on the back side? Or do you attach something on the back? They look adorable.

I stick two pieces of washi tape together. So the two sticky sides are sticking together.
