Remember a few weeks ago when I showed you this AMAZING vintage wooden jewelry cabinet that the Music Man found at a thrift store for me? I took it to the Room With a Past sale last weekend. I was telling one of the other vendors how it’s the first cabinet that I haven’t painted. Then I took her over to show it to her.
As soon as she saw it she gasped a little and said, “I know where you got that… My dad made that for me when I was a little girl.” She and I were both almost crying as she told me how her mom passed away last year and they had to give away most of the things in her house because no one had room for them.
I offered to let her have it but she said she still didn’t have room for it and wanted it to go to someone who would use it and take care of it. So I’ll keep using it for display until it sells.
Now that I know this, I love this cabinet even more!
Switching subjects… We’ll be leaving Friday to go on an overnight trip to Solvang, California! The Music Man will be riding his bike in a metric century and I’ll be shopping! If you know the area and have any recommendations for shopping or eating please let us know. Thanks!
‘Til the next project,
