Today’s project is a colorful tassel bead bracelet DIY. It’s a really simple project but there are a few secrets that I’m going to let you in on that will make these even easier and more fun to make and wear.

Supplies & Tools for Tassel Bead Bracelet
- wood, glass, or stone beads (I used these olive wood beads and 4 mm turquoise beads for this example.)
- elastic
- super glue (I used this super glue for this project.)
- tassel (You can make one yourself but for this project I used these tassels.)
- 2 jump rings
- chain nose pliers
- bent nose pliers (Optional, you can use 2 pair of chain nose pliers if you want.)
- bead stoppers (Optional, but a HUGE help!)
- bracelet board (Also optional, but keeps the beads from rolling away.)
Basically, you just cut a long string of elastic and clip a bead stopper on one end so the beads don’t slip off. Measure your wrist and add a few inches so you’ll have enough to tie it off. Before you start beading give the elastic a good stretch. It’s also helpful to lay out the beads on the bracelet board before you start.
Then just string the beads onto the elastic and tie a knot. I use a surgeon’s knot which is like a square knot but the string goes around twice. Here’s a video that will show you how.
One more thing that I always do, just to make SURE the bracelet doesn’t come untied, is to add a tiny dot of super glue on the knot before I trim it. You’ll see that in the video, too. Then you can slide the knot to fit inside a bead so you won’t even see it.
After the bracelet is finished, I add embellishments. The first jump ring goes through the loop at the top of the tassel.
Close that one and attach it to the bracelet with the other jump ring.
