Tuesday was a hot and fun day of setting up for the May vintage sale at Room With a Past. There were quite a few “Roomies” there enjoying the air conditioning. It’s always more fun when there are other people there. Kinda quiet and scary when you’re setting up in the warehouse by yourself! Very few spaces were ready to photograph so I don’t have anyone else to share with you this month… just my space!
My “space” at RWAP is just a shelf unit. I arranged it so that there are just three shelves in it now. I needed the height. So this month I thought I’d try stacking photos of each individual shelf so you could get an idea of what the whole thing looks like. What do you think?
The top shelf has my two crates that I’ve been taking to flea markets. The Music Man added little cup holder hooks across the top to hang the chains from. They’re lightweight and I can also use them to move items between sales. I usually add a mirror to the back of at least one. That adds a little interest and lets people see what the jewelry will look like on them.
Next is the middle shelf. I like to stack as much as possible and usually include a jewelry cabinet on this shelf with items on top of it. The two on the right were short enough to stack on top of each other. They display jewelry but they’re always for sale, too.
Then there’s the bottom shelf which I’m almost NEVER happy with. It’s hard to see while standing in front of the shelf. Then when I get down to take a photo it always looks bare to me. I think I should have added a mirror or painting to the back of this crate, too. And I usually hide a few extra goodies down here in case something big sells from one of the top shelves.
I just realized that I didn’t include what’s sitting on TOP of the whole shelf. The painted cowboy boots are still around along with a couple of picnic baskets that I dry brushed with CeCe Caldwell Vintage White.
And since the next big holiday is Father’s Day I have a few gift and card ideas for Dad. The GONE FISHING signs are back in stock. These were my most popular sign and sold out while we were up at the Roses and Rust vintage sale. I also made a couple of collages with vintage cabinet cards. Follow my Father’s Day Pinterest board for more great ideas!
Below are close ups of three of the jewelry cabinets. These were all painted with CeCe Caldwell natural chalk and clay paints – Vintage White, Kentucky Mint, and Portland Rose. And that vintage Old Spice mug would make a great gift for some lucky dad! I also have a Pinterest board full of the jewelry cabinets and other small pieces I’ve painted.
I’ll be working this Saturday from 10-2 so if you’re in the San Francisco Bay area come see me! Check the website for location and times.
