Tuesday was a hot and fun day of setting up for the May vintage sale at Room With a Past. Â There were quite a few “Roomies” there enjoying the air conditioning. Â It’s always more fun when there are other people there. Â Kinda quiet and scary when you’re setting up in the warehouse by yourself! Â Very few spaces were ready to photograph so I don’t have anyone else to share with you this month… just my space!
My “space” at RWAP is just a shelf unit. Â I arranged it so that there are just three shelves in it now. Â I needed the height. Â So this month I thought I’d try stacking photos of each individual shelf so you could get an idea of what the whole thing looks like. Â What do you think?
The top shelf has my two crates that I’ve been taking to flea markets. Â The Music Man added little cup holder hooks across the top to hang the chains from. Â They’re lightweight and I can also use them to move items between sales. Â I usually add a mirror to the back of at least one. Â That adds a little interest and lets people see what the jewelry will look like on them.
Next is the middle shelf. Â I like to stack as much as possible and usually include a jewelry cabinet on this shelf with items on top of it. Â The two on the right were short enough to stack on top of each other. Â They display jewelry but they’re always for sale, too.
Then there’s the bottom shelf which I’m almost NEVER happy with. Â It’s hard to see while standing in front of the shelf. Â Then when I get down to take a photo it always looks bare to me. Â I think I should have added a mirror or painting to the back of this crate, too. Â And I usually hide a few extra goodies down here in case something big sells from one of the top shelves.
I just realized that I didn’t include what’s sitting on TOP of the whole shelf. Â The painted cowboy boots are still around along with a couple of picnic baskets that I dry brushed with CeCe Caldwell Vintage White.
And since the next big holiday is Father’s Day I have a few gift and card ideas for Dad. Â The GONE FISHING signs are back in stock. Â These were my most popular sign and sold out while we were up at the Roses and Rust vintage sale. Â I also made a couple of collages with vintage cabinet cards. Â Follow my Father’s Day Pinterest board for more great ideas!
Below are close ups of three of the jewelry cabinets. Â These were all painted with CeCe Caldwell natural chalk and clay paints – Vintage White, Kentucky Mint, and Portland Rose. Â And that vintage Old Spice mug would make a great gift for some lucky dad! Â I also have a Pinterest board full of the jewelry cabinets and other small pieces I’ve painted.
I’ll be working this Saturday from 10-2  so if you’re in the San Francisco Bay area come see me!  Check the website for location and times.
