Grateful for YOU
What do all these verses have in common?
- Romans 1:8
- I Corinthians 1:4
- Philippians 1:3
- Colossians 1:3
- I Thessalonians 1:2
- II Thessalonians 1:3
- II Timothy 1:3
- Philemon 1:4
Paul was thanking God for his fellow believers in each of these greetings. Have you thanked God for your fellow believers today? Have you told those people you’re thankful for them?
I’m thankful for our community group. We think we have the best group in the world! Not only do we have great study and prayer time but everyone brings food every time we meet and we have a whole meal! We also go to ball games, shop, go out to eat or get coffee, take care of each other’s houses, make cookies and mail to each other’s kids.
And I’m thankful for our choir. It’s like another community group for us. Or an extra worship service during the week where we can sing, pray, and hear God’s word again.
Scripture Reading – Ephesians 1:15-16
For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; Ephesians 1:15-16 (NASB)
Thanksgiving, by Phoebe Cary
Thank God for friends your life has known,
For every dear, departed day;
The blessed past is safe alone —
God gives, but does not take away;
He only safely keeps above
For us the treasures that we love.
Over the River
Here’s a fun one we all know. Did you know this was written as a Thanksgiving poem?
- Write 5 things you’re thankful for in your journal.
- Share them with someone.
- Choose someone on your list and let them know how grateful you are for them.
Thanks for reading & have a great weekend!
